Our mission is to raise funds for several local charities in and around the Cirencester area.
Across the spring and summer, we will hold a series of fundraising sport challenges.
We want everyone to feel able to participate. Our activities will be inclusive & accessible.
We will celebrate our achievements at a family friendly BBQ on Monday 30th August.
Our fundraising progress
Over the summer of 2021 we will be holding the first ever ‘Stratton Superstars’ event. The event will raise funds for Cirencester based charities, including Stratton Youth Football Club (40%), Stratton Playgroup (20%), Cirencester Housing for Young People (CHYP) (20%) and Stratton School (5%). We will also distribute up to 10% of the money received to local grassroots sports teams for them to invest in continuing, and enhancing, youngsters’ access to sports such as rugby, tennis and hockey and 5% to food banks.
The final event will start and finish at Stratton House Hotel. Once we start, and through until mid-afternoon, there will be festivities at Stratton House for both supporters and runners.
How can you participate?
All the main events will be held in Cirencester but, people can participate wherever they choose. You can do as many activities you wish to do and can either join in with the main group or complete them independently (both the June and July activities will be streamed online). On the final day we will have a shorter route for those aged under 18 so they can join in with the last few miles of the run before our finish at Stratton House Hotel.
Walking and/or running
You will aim to walk or run a marathon equivalent distance of 26.2 miles over the course of the month. This can be done all at once or in stages and you will keep your own record of achieving the distance. The goal is more about completing than time!
You will aim to cycle 200km over May. This can be done in stages and can be done on an indoor bike or out on the roads. Again, you will keep your own record of achieving the distance. We suggest that you use an app such Strava to keep a tally of your cycling achievements.
It's Zumba time
Run by renowned local Zumba instructor, Meryl Miller, we will put on a 2-hour Zumba class at Baunton Lane, on Saturday 26 June (10-12 pm). This will also be streamed online if you prefer to do this at another location. Open to all ages and abilities!
Ollie Wakefield from Your Fitness Community will deliver a 2-hour ‘boot camp’ fitness session at Baunton Lane, on Saturday 3 July (10-12 pm). This will also be streamed online so you can do it away from the main event at a place convenient to you.
Walking and/or running
On Monday 30th August, we will hold our final activity. There will be a single route equalling 6.55 miles – you can choose to run this once or up to four times (four is marathon distance!). You can do it individually or in a relay as a team!

Our headline sponsor will be included in every newsletter we produce, feature their logo on every page of this website and have banners at all outside events as well as a speaking slot at the celebration event.
INDIVIDUAL SPONSORS: £500
Each individual sponsor will have their logo and a short summary of their company on this website and be referenced in all of our formal communications that go to circa 200 locally based parents each month.
